			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Valley India was selected to produce this innovative flagship store on behalf of HP at Phoenix Market City a fabulous new Retail development near Chennai, formerly known as Madras. Each module was designed to ensure that the needs of different shoppers across the shopper journey are taken into account, from a design concept that differentiates from competitors and utilises a distinct brand identity leveraging the best of execution references from the HP family.</p>
<p>Valley India has been charged with a number of similar store design and fit out programmes across the whole of India to create consistency across HP Stores throughout the region using this flexible system of unitary which can be adapted to different permutations and combined in an optimal way to fit the different environments, locations and consumer profiles in order to drive premium brand experience &amp; experiential shopping with a minimal aesthetic and strategic visual positioning.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Valley’s role in the launch of Windows 8 was recognised in spectacular fashion when we were awarded a prestigious POPAI India Silver trophy at the recent awards ceremony in Mumbai.</p>
<p>Valley created an iconic retail kit to attract and engage the shopper, by showcasing the Windows 8 experience. Working in collaboration with the Microsoft team &#8211; the result was a range of counter and floor standing unitry which used acrylic, metal , MDF with LED lights and digital screens to bringing the customers to the unit so that they could engage with the Windows 8 demo machine.</p>

<p>POPAI Global Marketing At Retail Award Winners Announced</p>
<p>Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI) announced the winners of the<br />
2nd annual POPAI Global Marketing At Retail Awards last week during GlobalShop<br />
2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.</p>
<p>Twenty awards were presented during the ceremony, with Valley adding to its top<br />
spot for Display of the Year in 2011 in the UK, by winning the Global Award in the<br />
Toy &amp; Sport Retailers Category – Permanent, for the Adidas Boot Wall Display.</p>
<p>In total, over 200 nominees were eligible to participate in this year’s Awards &#8211; to<br />
qualify, entrants were required to have won Display of the Year or Gold awards from<br />
the 2011 Awards Contest run by POPAI Chapters around the world. Of all the Award<br />
winners, 5 originated from the UK, 7 from Australia and New Zealand, 2 from North<br />
America, 2 from South Africa, and 2 from the DACH Region.</p>
<p>For 2012, the POPAI Global Marketing At Retail Awards introduced 13 awards<br />
categories including ‘Beauty &amp; Cosmetics, Skincare, &amp; Haircare’, ‘Food Retailers’, and<br />
‘Sports and Toy Retailers’. The competition was judged by a team of independent<br />
marketing at retail professionals representing a variety of relevant disciplines in an<br />
online adjudication process whereby judges reviewed case histories and evaluated<br />
entry responses to questions focusing on design, engineering, shopper engagement,<br />
retail experience, brand performance, and sales results. Additionally, judging was<br />
conducted across five different languages including Dutch, English, French, German,<br />
and Italian making it a truly global contest.</p>
<p>“Reflecting the intensity of competition and innovation across the marketing at retail<br />
ecosystem, we saw an exceptionally high-quality field of contenders vying for this<br />
year’s POPAI Global Marketing At Retail Awards,” said Richard Winter, POPAI<br />
President. “It is a significant achievement to have made the qualification to be<br />
eligible to participate in this global awards program, and our warmest<br />
congratulations go to all the nominees that entered. We look forward to elevating<br />
the visibility of this year’s winners, which represents truly the best that the industry<br />
has to offer around the globe.“</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So what is the formula for a Display of the Year and how can this recipe be beneficial for your brand, in-store?</p>
<p>Our Display of the Year, awarded to the highly acclaimed football boot wall display for sport super-brand adidas was a high volume, short-lead time launch that pushed the boundaries of project management. </p>
<p>The key elements to the adidas boot wall&#8217;s success were based around its longevity.  Whilst the initial display was initially required to promote the ‘F50’ boot range (pictured) – modularity was essential in the displays structural design to cater for future boot launches using the existing carcass by re-cladding elements of the display. This was followed through with the launch of the adizero and then the Predator boot ranges, cleverly re-cladding with new graphics on the back wall of the display to transform its appearance, whilst maintaining a new, fresh look and feel at half the cost!</p>
<p>The displays impact was apparent through its magnificent sales uplift of over 53%, generated within the first month of its launch whilst enhancing the football boot category within each Sports Direct retailer across the UK.</p>
<p>We were also the proud benefactors of a further 2 Awards on the night, with the adidas boot wall receiving an additional Gold within the <em>‘Sports, Toys and Accessories’ </em>category and a Silver awarded to  our highly-creative Reebok Reezig display collection, designed to launch Reebok’s new Fitness trainer &#038; clothing range into over 200 sports retailers nationwide.</p>
<p>The aim, like adidas, was to develop a creative in-store solution that provided our client with maximum ROI. Our approach for Reebok was similar by creating an innovative display design using the main design element of the Reezig range (the zig-zag) to expose one of the products USP’s. Reebok intended to promote different product variants within the Reezig range so therefore required some modularity built into the design. This was achieved by integrating the injection moulded zig-zag sides with replaceable hinges so that additional colour variants could be used to promote other Reezig variants. This allowed Reebok to undergo an extended in-store campaign using the original display carcass with both the Gondola and Slat Wall displays achieving staggering sale uplift providing a successful in-store launch for the Reezig range. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At Valley we make it a priority to bring you live in-store news and retail display trends to help you in the development of your own in-store marketing campaigns. This month we visited the UK’s newest retail development, Westfield Stratford, situated slap bang next to the new Olympic stadium.</p>
<p>Westfield came across as an amazingly attractive and modern styled retail development. Boasting easy to shop layouts, large and accessible parking facilities and most importantly exciting, new brands to compliment the UK Olympic offering next summer. We have highlighted some of the standout displays and retail formats from our visit to hopefully inspire you along the way.</p>
<p>We were drawn to this stunning circular LED display positioned in HSBC, playing an eye-catching brand message to on looking consumers &#8211; really bringing the store environment to life.</p>
<p>New format stores were in their number at Westfield, with the likes of Game and Currys/PC World showcasing modern, spacious retail interiors that cleverly accommodate the modern surroundings of Westfield. Currys/PC World integrated a clever use of subtle strobe lighting to enhance the store space.</p>
<p>We were mesmerised by this innovative picture Frame housing a media screen in the O2 Store. Displaying content on their new ‘Priority’ promotion, the message appears all that more attractive sitting within the unlikely surroundings of a picture frame – subtle design but extremely effective! Lovely clean lines and inoffensive colours were on show within the health and beauty categories, in particular Origins and Biotherm, whose clever manipulation of lighting worked hard to attract the consumers eye.</p>
<p>We had time to drop in and witness some of our own work for Luxury Jewellers brand , Thomas Sabo. Complete with compelling, glossy finishes, complimented by neat wood vinyl flooring and tidy LED lighting additions. The design execution intended to reflect all the core brand values of Thomas Sabo. Links of London displayed a similarly stunning retail design, utilising the high ceiling space to create more presence and prestige atmosphere within the store.</p>
<p>We loved this 2 story wall display that almost appeared like an optical illusion – utilising the vertical space of the store environment to ergonomically ‘connect’ both the ground and first floors. A new Ann Summers store also boasted a fantastically retro styled store front complete with a clever angular appearance – disrupting and therefore attracting shopper attention!</p>
<p>Lighting, angles and box shapes were the theme of the sports retailers at Westfield. JD Sports in particular featured some impressive wall displays for adidas and Reebok that work hard to stand-out on the stylish black walls of the store and draw maximum footfall.</p>
